Who Are Writers of the West?
Writers of the West is a ghostwriting and publishing firm with more than two decades of experience in book publishing. CEO Chris Holloway founded the company in 2004 as a traditional publisher, and in 2020 it moved to a fully online model focused on ghostwriting and self-publishing, so authors anywhere can work with us.
Today our team includes ghostwriters, editors, designers and marketers from 15 countries, and we have worked with authors in the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, Dubai and Singapore. Fewer than 2% of writers who apply to join our network pass our vetting, and every client is matched with a writer based on their project, vision and budget.
We handle a book from first interview to finished, published and marketed title, across more than 20 genres including memoir, biography, Christian, business, fiction and children's books. Every author owns their work from day one and keeps 100% of their rights and royalties.
What Makes Writers of the West Different
- Unlimited writer changes. Writers who specialize in your genre put themselves forward, and if the match isn't right, you can change writers as many times as you need. Fewer than 2% of writers who apply to our network are accepted.
- Unlimited revisions. Anything within your agreed scope can be revised as many times as it takes until the book is right.
- 100% ownership from day one. Your rights and royalties are yours from the day the contract is signed, and we take no share of your sales.
- Published under your own account. Your book can go live through your own publishing account, with direct access to your sales data and settings.
- One team from manuscript to market. Ghostwriting, editing, design, formatting, publishing, audiobook production, distribution and marketing, handled by the same team.
- 50+ retail channels. Including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Target, Waterstones, and bookstore and library networks.
- Your book properly registered. ISBN, U.S. Copyright Office registration and a copy submitted to the Library of Congress.
- Positioning built to compete. Category, keyword, metadata and competitor research, the same strategy behind our books that reached #1 in their Amazon categories (see how).
- No need to pay everything upfront. Spread the cost with 0% interest installment plans on every package.
- Support that continues after launch. A dedicated project manager stays your point of contact for years, with up to three years of post-publication revisions on eligible projects.
